Frequently Asked Questions

Get the Ansers to Your Dentistry Questions

How often should I visit the dentist?

Sol G. Brotman, DDS, MAGD and his team recommend visiting at least two times each year for most individuals. This is also the recommendation of the American Dental Association. These six-month checkups give us the opportunity to examine your smile for signs of common oral health concerns.

Do dentists treat sleep apnea?

We can. Dr. Brotman uses custom crafted oral appliances to treat sleep apnea. They adjust the jaw to keep the throat clear and allow you to breathe deeply through the night.

What should I do if I experience a dental emergency?

Call Dr. Brotman’s dental office right away. We’ll do our utmost to see you the same day you call, and if we’re unable to provide same day emergency dental care, we’ll walk you through first aid over the phone.

What is periodontal therapy?

Periodontal disease is a more severe form of gum disease. It occurs when plaque or tartar buildup at the patients’ gum line irritates and breaks down the soft tissue and supportive bone structure. We offer a variety of periodontal therapies that remove plaque and tartar buildup and renew oral health.

Should I consider dental implants?

Whether you’re missing a single tooth or a full arch of teeth, dental implant supported tooth replacement is versatile enough to help you repair your damaged smile. Schedule a dental implant consultation, if you’re interested in finding out if this is the right option for you.

Does teeth whitening work?

If you've tried store-bought whitening products without success, you may be hesitant to give professional whitening a try. However, our teeth whitening treatments are more effective than over the counter varieties.

Do you take my insurance?

We are happy to process and file claims for most dental insurance providers, and our knowledgeable team will work hard to maximize your coverage. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have regarding your insurance coverage.
